From porn game giants Nutaku comes Attack on Moe H, the hentai infused version of an otherwise delightfully innocent RPG Clicker. Given Nutaku’s obvious love for all things anime it’s no wonder that they decided to give a quiet nod to popular Japanese Anime Attack on Titan. The inspiration for the name of the game is obvious, but there are some tributes to the anime hidden within the gameplay as well.

Instead of fighting gigantic titans as they do in the cartoon, in this game you fight against Moetans. The obvious name similarity aside, the “moe” part of the name refers to a certain Japanese concept for the feeling you get when you interact with something particularly cute. That feeling of “moe” has been associated with such cute things as cats, little girls and similar large-eyed and small “kawaii” characters. The game is built entirely around this concept, and it’s no wonder that there’s a non-pornographic version of the game for people who simply wish to enjoy the cute things in life.

But for the rest of you there is the H version of the game which conveniently combines the cute “moe” style and 8-bit graphics that comprise the entirety of the actual gameplay and combat. On the other hand, when you interact with characters directly, like in conversation or in the end-game payoff, they switch to a high resolution artistic style that is more directly reminiscent of anime. There are no 8-bit sprites there. It’s all pure high scale animation that serves as your reward in between combat.

However, the big payoff in the H version of the game are the sex scenes that you receive as you level up your relationships with your female companions. These features are technically optional and they confer no combat advantages. It’s simply an entire section of the game that’s devoted to keeping track of your sexual relationships with several cute anime girls and it all culminates in full-fledged, no-holds-barred sex scenes that are entirely uncensored.

It takes quite a lot of time to get to the smutty endgame with a particular character, but like in other Nutaku games, this is not a freemium grind. Yes, the game is a freemium title, meaning that it’s free and you can pay real money to get in-game prizes that speed along the gameplay, but it’s entirely optional and you will not be hindered if you decide to play it for free.

Other similar titles have suffered from this formula and paying real money has even been necessary to complete the game. Nutaku have not pulled this trick on their fans before and they most likely will not do so in the future. It is most likely that Nutaku are sticking to this fair approach to monetization due to the fact that they’ve been so successful with their smut titles in the past. Their fans are truly lucky in that regard.

Beyond the Smut

If you’re a long running Nutaku fan who’s looking for another masturbatory fix, then with a little bit of gameplay you’ll get a lot of pleasure out of Attack on Moe H. However, if you’re more interested in the core gameplay that this title offers, you will not be disappointed either.

The game is built around a very familiar mobile game structure that you’ve probably seen in certain “clicker” games, as they’re called. While “clicker” games have received some flak in the past for being repetitive, Attack on Moe H really hits the mark in balancing between rewarding and challenging combat encounters with the simple repetitiveness of clicker gameplay. Yes, you basically click your character into oblivion while they beat down one enemy after another, but the enemies vary. You also get tons of item and currency rewards and the ability to set up your team composition any way you see fit.

It’s a nice balance between Final Fantasy-like party composition with the more modern and simplistic clicker gameplay format. However, it’s not a time wasting game – it’s a team composition game. The clicking portion is the meat of the combat, but the combat depends heavily on your team setup. And given that there are tons of cute anime girls in the game that are willing to join your squad, you’re going to have a lot of fun getting to know each and every one of them, along with their skills.

And there are a lot of skills in this game. Every character brings something new to the table and you can give them consideration based on how well they can contribute in combat. Beyond that you could also consider how attractive you find them and plan ahead if you’re playing this game in order to get your fill of hot hentai 2D action.

Some Technical Aspects

As an entirely 2D title that was originally built around being played in a browser, the game isn’t very heavy on your computer. There aren’t even official requirements posted for the game. You fire it up in just about any browser and it runs perfectly well. This review recommends that you play the game in Google Chrome, however, as other browsers are notorious for malfunctioning with online browser games. Your mileage may vary, but it’s something to keep in mind.
