It used to be that finding hot new releases involved scouring forums and hoping a reputable member could point a person in the right direction. Thanks to JAVJunkies, those days have been long gone. JAVJunkies has kept the process simple since 2007. The Hello Kitty-ish pink background should not fool anyone, though. JAVJunkies is serious about its JAV collection. One quick look, and it becomes apparent that JAVJunkies wants fans to be able to log onto the site, download what they wish as conveniently as possible, and jump out to go on with their daily lives.

Hovering over torrent shows actors, size, and number of files

Here is an option that more JAV torrent sites – and all torrent sites in general – should consider implementing into their site design. By simply hovering over a torrent – that is to say, hovering a mouse or thumb over the torrent – a wealth of useful information pops up on the screen. From there, finding out details about the torrent in question becomes as simple as gleaning what's in the tiny infobox. Viewers will learn about the size of the file, actors/actresses in the movie, and the number of files. The ability to quickly figure out the size of the file is essential. Many of these JAV movies are not simple, low-quality videos one can download over on a generic free tube site. A lot of the content in the torrents on JAVJunkies seems to either be uncut and uncompressed videos downloaded straight from a studio or actual ripped DVDs/Blu-Rays from Japan. Judging by the thumbnails and how each of them seems to be a front and back cover of a porn movie (more on thumbnails in a moment), it's unclear if the content's origins come from a streaming site akin to more Western pornography studios or if it's from optical media. Those details are all moot, though. The important thing is that what one gets when downloading a movie from a torrent on JAVJunkies is that they are getting content that is essentially the same thing as if they purchased it online or in a pornographic store in Japan.

Good viewing options

Because viewers are essentially getting content that looks as good as if it was being viewed in its native country, good sorting options are essential. At JAVJunkies, they have deployed excellent choices that make finding the JAV porn a person is clamoring for even more accessible. Besides, for JAV fans that want a complete look at the week behind them, this is a good option to use. Because visitors are able to view the seven most recent dates, all they have to do is click the date and see the content that was posted that day. It's a quick and easy way to reference the past week and ensure one's collection is complete. Some may feel like this is a good move, while others may feel like this could have been consolidated into another section. Either way, it adds convenience to the site and is a welcomed addition.

Archives go back monthly to August 2009

For those that enjoy going back every seven days and seeing the full archives of that week, JAVJunkies has more where that came from! The majority of JAVJunkies’ full archives is listed on the torrent site, and it goes back to August 2009. Although a little over two years is missing, that isn't that big of a loss when you consider the torrents mentioned are probably long dead. That’s a problem people will run into if they go back far enough on JAVJunkies. The life of a torrent differs depending on the demand for the torrent. While pornographic torrents are some of the most in-demand torrents on the Web, it’s hard to imagine that many JAV torrents still have seeders 10 years later. Go back through the archives if it’s appealing. Just know there may not be that much good content one can download the further back they go.

Too much white space on the bottom of the homepage

It may sound like a nitpick, but judging by how many torrents JAVJunkies features on its site, there really isn't an excuse. JAVJunkies has way too much white space at the bottom of each page. It's noticeable on the homepage when one scrolls down to the very bottom. One may expect that the further a person scrolls down, the more torrents they will notice. That does not happen. JAVJunkies lists featured torrents from the last few days. Then it just cuts off. Scroll down further, and a person would be forgiven to assume that there will be weeks’ worth of torrents the further they scroll. There isn’t. There are only a few days listed and nothing but white space. To see more torrents, a person has to click the previous button to view more. It's a task that should not happen. Nobody wants to click from page-to-page just because of poor page design. JAVJunkies should eliminate the white space and fill the rest of it up with torrent listings. Sure, it would make pages look like a catalog full of JAV torrents to download, but that would further confirm that JAVJunkies is a destination for the best and hottest Japanese adult videos

Tags should have their own page

It's unclear why JAVJunkies thought this was a good idea, but alas, they seem to think it would work. Instead of shoving all of its tags into a corner on the homepage, the tags should have been given their own page. The page could have been linked as a tab at the top of the homepage, where they could have added an enormous laundry list of tags. Instead, they have opted to shove the tags into a corner on the homepage. There isn't a lot of room for more by doing this. It seems like JAVJunkies assumed that this would be a more natural way to access all the tags all at once, but it just looks poorly designed. Instead of boxing themselves in a corner and allowing the tags section to get out of control, this further proves that a tags section with its page is the only solution. This allows them to scale their tag list even further. Plus, it would remove the poorly designed tag section that makes JAVJunkies' homepage look amateurish.

Thumbnails look good and detailed

For those that visit ThePornDude on occasion and browse the JAV sections, they have probably noticed that most torrent sites use the front and back covers as thumbnails. They show the front and back of each movie. It’s unclear why this happens. Regardless, it’s a quick and simple way to reference what the movie looks like and figure out whether or not it warrants a download. The front and back covers show all sorts of imagery that will help a person make up their mind, too. If someone cannot conclude that they want to download a torrent or not after looking at the front and back covers of these gems, then they may want to find another niche. These images are enticing and will make JAV fans want to download them!
