It Is Hard to Remain Anonymous

Let me rephrase that. It is not hard to remain anonymous today. It is damn near impossible. Just pay attention to all the fucking cameras around as you are walking down the street. Every damn store, bank, school, jewelry shop, and many other places has at least one. I get it, some of those places need cameras, but it is getting out of control, in my opinion. I don't have cameras at home because I don't need them.

If you decide to come and rob me, be prepared to get a significant ass-whooping and be sent on your way. That is all the security I need if you ask me. However, the situation is slightly different regarding surfing the internet. I don't want every clown to know what type of porn I watch. It is not like I am hiding it, but not everyone needs to know my business. 

I have spent years of my childhood avoiding that annoying ass grandma positioned on her balcony and keeping an eye on everything. She was like a fucking watchtower. Nothing escaped her. Now I hope you understand why I want to keep at least some level of anonymity in my life, and the internet is where I need it most. What I jerk off to is my thing, and I don't need all of you commenting on the smut I like.

That is why it is so fucking important to have the right VPN. If you are unfamiliar with the acronym, it stands for Virtual Private Network, and it is meant to allow you to surf the internet and remain anonymous. Someone brought me a VPN I had never heard about before, so I had to check it out. It is called Hola and depending on how fast you can read in several minutes or less, you will learn everything about it.

They Are Talking About a Good Game

When you enter Hola's website for the first time, you can tell that it has a clean look. Nothing stands out or anything like that, but it gives off a pleasant vibe. Fire is their logo. Not sure why, but when you see it with legs and a huge smile, it looks a bit creepy, if I am being honest. That is not what we are here to discuss, so I don't know why I brought that up. I guess I was just weirded out by it, that's all.

Scrolling down past the mysterious fire with a smile and legs, you will see all the supported platforms. There are 15 of them, including all the biggest ones we use today. Microsoft, Samsung, iOS, Playstation, and Xbox are just some of them. If you are one of the weirdos using Opera or Microsoft Edge, know they also covered you. Hola also supports your router, so don't worry about that either.

This VPN promises you content at the tip of your fingers. That sounds pretty damn good if you ask me, and they further mentioned that they have thousands of servers and millions of IPs. They will allow you to access any website in over 190 countries. This means you can watch all the movies and TV shows your heart desires, games, and more. Sounds pretty damn good so far.

They are also saying that all of this is free. Yes, you heard that right. You don't have to spend a single dime to be able to use Hola's VPN. I don't know about you, but I like everything free. Even vinegar tastes sweet when you don't have to pay for it. I don't know how often I used that phrase, but it is true. Free things are much better than those you have to pay for. They might not last you as long, but you didn't pay a cent for them anyway.

It Is a Bit More Than Just a VPN

If you have used a VPN before, you know that most damn near every single one must be downloaded. You can turn them on and off whenever you want, which is pretty damn good if your parents monitor your web activity. Many of you live in basements, so this might be a perfect weapon. Especially since you've told them you are not playing video games in your spare time.

One thing I don't like about Hola, though, is that it is an actual browser. I don't know about you, but I stick with Google Chrome. It has never failed me yet, so I don't see a reason to change that. Every other browser I have used had some sort of an issue, except maybe Mozilla, but I still prefer Google Chrome. If I am being honest, this is a big turn-off for me, but perhaps something is hiding underneath the surface that might be worth it.

You will need to download the damn thing and then install it. I have had bad experiences with stuff like this before, so I hesitated. I checked out all the different reviews on Hola, and they were not that good, but more on that later. But I am a professional, so of course, I downloaded it, and I had to check it out for myself. Believe it or not, that isn't the most brilliant idea I've ever had.

As I said, I will talk more about that in just a few seconds. This browser works because it has a similar menu in the upper right corner as Google Chrome does. You can turn it on and off whenever you want. At the same place, you can connect to any of the supported platforms you enjoy. So, for example, you can easily access French or British Netflix in the states. Of course, the content is a bit different depending on the country.

Fast, Looks Nice, But a Lot of Issues

Again, Hola is an entirely free VPN that you can use. That in itself is a pretty damn good deal. However, there is a massive issue with it which I didn't like. As I mentioned before, I browsed the internet to see what other similar-minded people have to say about this VPN. Sometimes you must admit that you are not an expert at everything and can learn something new from others. There is no shame in that.

So, the reviews were abysmal. Many people voted Hola to be one of the worst free VPNs available. I was shocked to see that because it works pretty well, there are no bugs, glitches, or anything else, but all your internet activity is being logged. So much for anonymity, suitable? I don't know if they sell your information to more prominent companies, but I do not like this.

Also, it seems that your connection is not encrypted at all. You will risk your privacy, private information, identity, and internet security. Again, what the fuck is the point of a VPN that doesn't protect your privacy? I don't have an answer to that question for you, that is way above my pay grade, but I am not a fan. Sure, sometimes I am willing to sacrifice my privacy to reach specific sites, but not all the damn time.

It also seems that they do not have their server list. Instead, they use their free users as the damn servers. If you are wondering what this means, this VPN is unreliable. Your IP address is constantly exposed, so I have no fucking clue how they brought in over 240 million users. It is a complete dumpster fire, but again, some of you might have no problem with how Hola's VPN works.

It Gets Worse

Hola keeps track of everything you do while using it. Your email, the apps you prefer, and every other damn thing. Even your payment details are monitored, and I have no clue why the fuck someone would be okay with that. I am not talking about free users. This is for the premium ones. It is worse for those who use Hola for free because, on top of that list, you can add sharing your browsing history.

If you think it is worth it to pay for the memberships here, you are looking at a monthly and a yearly plan, as well as one which will last for three years. They will cost you $14.99, $7.69, and $2.99 monthly.
