After YouTube was launched during the middle of the first decade of Y2K, a series of imitators popped up all over the web. Most of them disappeared in a matter of a few years or even months, though many porn sites with the same model had incredible staying power and also pulled a lot of views.

Or at least they did initially.

Since those days when developing such websites was easy, many are still up but have not gotten much traction since they were first launched. Further, with the contemporary ease of website creation, thanks to cheap or free data-based web development tools, creating tubes is easier than ever, leading to a saturation of an already crowded market.

Launched back during the Tube Boom in 2009, aSheMaleTube was one of those porn platforms. So, given its age and its initial look, we thought there would not be too much to talk about. There Are About as Many Ads as You Would Expect

One aspect that this website is quite typical of is the number of adverts posted on virtually every page. Granted, it is not as frequent as many aggregates or some tubes. However, there are enough that it does take away from the user experience. Further, if you see any banners offering discounts, it is not for ASMT's webcam service but rather for other websites.

Along with that, the one other link you should watch out for is the Date A Tranny button in the menu. That will take you offsite to one of several trans dating platforms.

Checking Out This Tube's Trans Porn On Mobile Devices

As with most websites, ASMT on mobile devices is quite simplified. Of course, that does not always mean that a website has always been optimized well, but in this case, it has been. The same fundamental features have been retained, while the level of distracting adverts has been reduced.

On this version of the website, there is one significant difference between viewing it on a desktop: the abbreviated top-loaded menu includes a link to the virtual reality section. However, we did suspect this may be because there is cheap specialty equipment to experience VRs.

Things We Like About ASMT

And Things We Do Not Like About ASMT

From a web design standpoint, this platform could use a certain gimmick to make it stand out from the competition. Yes, plenty of features make it better than most tubes, but the aesthetics are not that interesting.

For instance, while a black background and grey-white lettering look fine, we think something different, like blue-orange lettering, would be legible but stimulating. That or something more out-of-the-box, like a white background with links highlighted in orange with black colored characters. Interestingly, another variation of the site is called Lite, which has an entirely different aesthetic and design compared to desktop and regular mobile versions. Specifically, the background is white, and the main menu is packed with more links, but the promotional titles and thumbnails do not look as good. Still, the typical mobile version is just as good as the desktop and, in some ways, is slightly better.

Ways We Would Work on This Website

If it is not broken, do not fix it, the adage goes – and we understand there is a reason to adhere to a conservative web design if it is effective. But on the other hand, we think taking calculated risks can result in impressive dividends.

So, the first thing we would change is the website's aesthetic when it comes to the use of color. Further, we would also consider changing some formatting to make the website just as accessible but not as predictably tube-like.

Moving on, we would add the VR content as a main feature on the desktop's menu rather than as a search filter on the video section. After all, since porn is going in that direction anyway, why not make that a primary feature of all website versions?

Ultimately, Do We Recommend This Tube?

We realize that this niche of porn tends to be hit or miss when it comes to our readership. However, this is one of the better tubes we have seen from a web design standpoint. And you can get a series of perks when joining, which typically are not seen on other sites of this type.
